Jessie Dodington is a visual artist working in oil, watercolor and drawing media. A current MFA candidate in painting and drawing at Texas Tech University, she received her BFA from Mount Allison University, New Brunswick, Canada in 2008.
Her work has been exhibited in group and solo shows in New Brunswick, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and internationally. Among her many art adventures was a five week artist residency at Elsewhere (a living museum set in a three-story former thrift store) in Greensboro, NC. Other art adventures include her multi-day camping and painting excursions around the state. Dodington taught as resource faculty in Fine Art at Eastern New Mexico University and has been an active member of the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, New Mexico Art League, Portales Art Guild and the New Mexico Watercolor Society.
She recently illustrated the textbook, Biology: An Invertebrate Perspective by Dr. Ken Cradock and taught the "Science in Art Project Series" for ENMU's STEM program. Her future goals include completing her Masters, continuing to travel and hike, participate in residencies and exhibit.
